FC Garra Teaches The Importance of Giving Back

FC Garra strives to use soccer as a means of unlocking the potential of today’s youth. The San Antonio based, non-profit soccer club is anything but traditional, and we work hard to prove this within the community. In an effort to enhance our teachings of integrity, sacrifice, leadership, and passion, we took our players to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.

At FC Garra, our ultimate goals are to show our players the importance of giving back to their community, and helping those in need.

These teachings are what sets our club apart from all the others. In order to succeed in life, the club teaches its players about GARRA – which means passion. This passion is what helps the club change lives, and shape future leaders who will carry those same goals on to whomever they touch throughout their lives.

The Habitat for Humanity project was for the good of a family in need, but for the Garra players, it was so much more. It was an opportunity to learn how their on-field skills and character could be put to use in a meaningful way off the field. These children volunteered their time, sweat, and leadership skills to a family that they may never even know – all in the name of sharing their passion for life.

This experience allowed them to understand that there are families within their own communities that need help, and that they can offer that helping hand in a variety of ways.

At FC Garra, soccer may be the focus, but the true success of the club lies in their teachings and the care they show for today’s youth both ON and OFF the field. If you want to learn more about getting involved, contact us today.
